Now the Bornholm School of Jewellery runs classes in well equipped, spacious rooms. Our workshop has 10 work stations, the normal number of participants per class being limited to 8. The work stations are equipped with all necessary hand tools, and the workshop is provided with an abundant supply of the special goldsmith’s tools that will challenge your imagination to design your own personal jewellery.
We teach the techniques used by goldsmiths for making rings, bracelets, necklaces, ear ornaments, brooches, pendants etc. Our primary material is sterling silver. However, working with gold, copper and other metals is also a possibility.
Our classes cater to people who have already tried their hand at jewellery making as well as to those without experience. We do individual instruction and work with the techniques required for each student’s project. As a minimum you will try sawing, soldering, filing, grinding, polishing and buffing. It is important to us that you get to know and train these basic goldsmith’s techniques, and our classes aim at making you able to design jewellery with an aestetic value.
From our classes you will take home unique pieces of jewellery,– jewellery of your design and making.
The Rutsker Holiday Centre offers board and lodging to students.
